NO to Violence Against Women:

God Heals What Violence Tried to Destroy

**By Joselyn Jenkins

Violence against women remains an open wound affecting millions around the world. It is a harsh reality often invisible, sometimes normalized, but always devastating. It is not only about physical harm; violence can be emotional, psychological, verbal, spiritual, economic, and sexual. Each form leaves deep marks on the heart, identity, and spirit.

But today I raise my voice—not only as a woman, Christian, and leader, but also as someone who experienced violence and abuse firsthand, and who now stands as living proof that God heals, restores, and lifts us from the dust.

💔 Violence: A Shadow That Tries to Silence Purpose

No woman is born to be mistreated. God never designed women to carry burdens of fear, manipulation, control, or pain. Violence seeks to silence a woman’s voice, break her identity, and distort the image that God gave her: a strong, valuable, dignified woman full of purpose.

Many times, society stays silent, minimizes the pain, misuses spirituality, or even blames the victim. But the truth is this: Violence is never God’s will.

The Bible shows us a God who defends, protects, and is compassionate, a Father who hears the cry of the oppressed and acts on behalf of the innocent.

My Story: From Violence to Restoration

For many years, I remained silent, just like many women who feel fear, shame, or confusion. I lived experiences of abuse and violence that marked my life, wounded my soul, and attempted to destroy my identity, moments when I felt broken, lost, alone, and without a voice.

Emotional and verbal violence left deep wounds in me. It made me believe I was not worthy, that I had to tolerate it, that it was my fault, or that there was no way out. There, in that dark place where the pain seemed greater than hope,

God stepped into my story

It wasn’t instant. It was a process—a journey of tears, prayer, inner healing, and deliverance. God lifted me little by little, like someone holding something fragile and restoring it with love.

He taught me to recognize my worth. He taught me to listen to His voice above the ones that hurt me. He taught me that I was not created to live oppressed, but to live free.

Today, I can speak without fear because what once was my wound is now my message. God used my pain to lift me up and turn me into an instrument to restore other women who are where I once was. God Says NO to Violence

From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals His heart toward women: love, protection, dignity, and value. He is a defender of the vulnerable and a refuge for the wounded.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

God does not tolerate injustice. God disapproves of abuse. God does not bless violence.

When a woman is hurt, heaven is outraged; when a woman rises, hell trembles.

Healing, Freedom, and a New Beginning

Talking about violence is not to relive the pain, but to bring light where there was once darkness. My life is proof that Christ restores completely.

If you, who are reading this, have experienced violence, I want to tell you with all my heart:

  • You are not alone.

  • It is not your fault.

  • Your voice matters.

  • Your story does not end in your wound.

  • Your life has purpose.

  • Christ can lift you exactly where you fell.

There is help, there is refuge, there is healing, and there is a future full of hope.

A Call to Raise Your Voice

Saying NO to violence against women is saying YES to:

  • Dignity

  • Freedom

  • Protection

  • Identity

  • Life

  • Purpose

As a society, as the church, and as women, we must break the silence. As a survivor, as a daughter of God, and as a lifted voice, I will continue proclaiming that every woman deserves to live in peace, to heal, to be free, and to know the true love of God. For those who can, please do it.

Conclusion: Purpose Prevails in Your Life

What happened to me does not define me, but it did transform me. It made me stronger, more aware, and more passionate about helping other women find the freedom that Christ offers.

Today I can say: Violence did not have the last word. God did.

And if He did it for me…He can do it for you, too. He loves you, you matter to Him, you are valued, precious, and deeply esteemed in His hands.

Today, rise, woman; lift your voice, seek help—you are not alone, and there are ways to overcome. God says to you: “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3

Cry out to the Lord, surrender your life and your burdens, and He will answer you. Seek help, talk to someone; do not stay alone with your pain and thoughts. God loves you and created you to live in peace and with purpose. Jesus loves you. No to violence and abuse!

If you need prayer, write to me; I will gladly pray for you.

I also recommend reading my book Redemida. You will see my testimony: how the Lord transformed my life from pain and agony to purpose, giving me life and a future.
