The Christian life is not just an invitation to eternal salvation, but also to inner healing and spiritual deliverance. Jesus came to break the chains of sin, to heal wounded hearts, and to bring freedom to the captives. Healing and deliverance are not mystical or exaggerated concepts, but real promises in the Word of God, available to every believer.
1. Jesus, Our Healer
From the Old Testament, God reveals Himself as our healer:
“I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26).
But it is in Jesus where this promise is fully fulfilled. During His earthly ministry, Jesus healed physical diseases, restored minds, and healed emotional wounds. His compassion reached the brokenhearted, the outcasts, and those tormented by evil spirits.
“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering… and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4–5).
2. Deliverance: Freedom in Christ
Spiritual deliverance is not only for those who are severely oppressed, but for anyone who needs to be freed from patterns, thoughts, or chains that hinder them from fully living in Christ.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18).
There are people bound by fear, anxiety, guilt, resentment, or even generational curses. But Jesus has the power to break every chain.
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).
3. How to Receive Healing and Deliverance
a. Through Faith:
Jesus said, “Your faith has healed you” (Luke 8:48).
Believe that God can and wants to heal you.
b. Through Prayer and Forgiveness:
Many are not free because they still hold on to resentment.
Forgiveness sets your soul free and opens the door to healing.
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16).
c. Meditating on the Word of God:
The Word renews the mind and casts out every lie of the enemy.
“He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave” (Psalm 107:20).
d. Seeking Spiritual Help:
God uses pastors, Christian counselors, and intercessors to guide people through deliverance. There is no shame in asking for help. Humility makes way for grace.
4. Maintaining Your Freedom
Healing and deliverance often begin with a powerful moment, but must be maintained through spiritual discipline: daily prayer, reading the Bible, fellowship with other believers, and staying away from things that open doors to the enemy.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
Conclusion
God doesn’t just want to save you from hell — He wants to heal your pain, free you from all oppression, and give you an abundant life in Christ. If today you feel wounded, bound, or far from God, remember: the power of Jesus has no limits. His love is greater than your pain, His light stronger than your darkness, and His blood more powerful than any bondage.
Jesus paid the price for you and for me. He dwells in our spirit, but we have a soul that needs healing and deliverance, and our minds must be renewed by the Word of God.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
(Matthew 11:28)
Come to Him today and your life will be changed. Surrender what troubles and wounds you, and what leads you away from the truth. Jesus Christ is your Savior, Deliverer, and Healer.
He wants us to receive what He already paid on the CROSS, He does not only saved you but healed and delivered you, but you and me need to yield and let Him work inside of us.
Open your heart to Him today and let Him heal you.
